2008 "Big Bucks" Tournament

The Libby Loggers are pleased to invite you to the 2008 "BIG BUCKS" tournament. The '08 tournament will be held June 20, 21, 22 at beautiful Lee Gehring Field. The eight team field has been finalized for the 2008 tournament. (South Hills Stingers (Puyallup,WA) ~ Kent (WA) Bulldogs ~ St. Maries (ID) Savages ~ Prairie Cardinals (Post Falls, ID) ~Tri-County (MT) Cardinals ~ Calgary, AB ~ Graham-Kapowsin (WA) Eagles ~ Libby (MT) Loggers) . Each team will play three games in pool play and all teams will be included in the championship round on Sunday the 22nd. The fee is $350. Winning teams may go home with either $500, $300, or $100 (1st, 2nd & 3rd place finishers). The Logger baseball program and the community of Libby take great pride in our tournament and making everyones stay in Libby as pleasant as possible. Loggers to Host Camp April 12th

The Libby Loggers are proud to announce that they will be offering an instructional kids camp on Saturday, April 12th. The camp is a great opportunity for the baseball playing youth to interact with the Logger players and staff. We invite everyone out for a fun-filled day of baseball and learning!

 The cost of the camp will be $20 and each player will recieve a free camp t-shirt. In order to properly maximize instructional time, the camp will consist of two different age groups. The schedule is as follows....

8:30 – 9:00 Regristration/T-Shirt Handout for Players 10 & Under
9:00 – 12:00 Camp for Players 10 & Under (Snack Included)
12:30 – 1:00 Regristration/T-Shirt Handout for Players 11 & Over
1:00 – 4:00 Camp for Players 11 & Over (Snack Included)

LOGGERS FINISH THIRD IN STATE

THE LIBBY LOGGERS DRIVE FOR A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP HAS ENDED AS THEY SPLIT 4 GAMES IN VAUXHALL, SEAT OF THIS YEARS STATE PLAYOFFS.  LIBBY DEFEATED LETHBRIDGE 5-2 BEHIND A STRONG 6 HIT PERFORMANCE BY STEVE BERTELSEN.  NATE PELTIER FOLLOWED THAT WITH A FOUR HIT 4-3 VICTORY OVER DILLON.  BOTH PITCHERS WENT THE DISTANCE THROWING UNDER 100 PITCHES.  IN THEIR MEETING WITH THE EVENTUAL STATE CHAMPS, VAUXHALL, THE LIBBY TEAM DID NOT FAIR WELL COLLECTING JUST ONE SCRATCH INFIELD SINGLE BY DUSTIN MORNINGSTAR WHILE FALLING 12-1.  IN THE FINAL GAME OF THE SEASON FOR THE LOGGERS, THEY ALLOWED 6 UNEARNED RUNS IN THE 8TH VS. LETHBRIDGE AND FALTERED 11-5.  RORY HENDRICKSON WAS A LAST MINUTE REPLACEMENT FOR DEREK BENEFIELD ON THE HILL AND PITCHED WELL UNTIL THE 8TH.  LIBBY FINISHES THE SEASON WITH A 27-25 OVERALL RECORD, AND CONFERENCE AND DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIPS.
